With the current work I am attempting to create I feel I need to bring in some photographic elements and I am looking at image transfer techniques.
I haven't really done any printmaking before so I am a BIG FAT NEWBIE!!!!
There are some really great things on the net but also some really awful ones like "use photoshop, buy some t'shirt transfer paper, place in printer, press print when you complete the image (which most of these images have been scanned in and one lazy PSD filter applied to look like it had some creative thought), take sheet and iron onto fabric....!!!
I am hoping to find some more in depth tips on transferring to a wood surface......as afterwards i am thinking of a wax glaze...something sexy...mmmmmm!
I have come across a handy site...it called 'Esbqart'- and is an online art magazine.....there is a great little article to get me started its about
Image Transferring..it tells you about different types of transferring and what they are suited for. So I think I am going to start with a technique called
Caulking.....So far I am not too sure whats exactly involved but isn't that what being an artist is? Finding out, researching, discovery....ohhhh how glamourous
