The end of the year
Another down side is my camera broken 3 weeks ago so I was unable to post more images of my artwork. It has been fixed and now I can't find my damn card. I have some more images to post.
So what now?....???
I will be trying to merge my 2 blogs together. I enjoyed using this blog as a base for my research. It gives me a place to store images of artists who inspire me and I am able to quickly refer to any I like. I am thinking of using "wordpress" as it seems to be able to order my finidings in a more user friendly experience. However I strongly recommend artists to use the internet and blogging as a way to store images. As I have noticed my journals use a lot of paper, mostly print out of artists and works of interest.
So stay tuned and who knows what will happen!!!...............

So far as an artist
I "googled" this man who wanted my work so much and behold he is a neurologist or something of the type. I find it really interesting to find out what the people do or enjoy who buy my works. Yes it does let me know who my markets are but it makes me think a bit...this made me think about form and landscape how we are all part of nature and interact with it.
Here is a picture of the smaller one I sold....
Collaborative Art
I have been looking at what is about and what ones I could be getting involved in.
The list so far;
iSummit collaborative -Live Drawing project.
They have one MASSIVE piece of paper and everyone loads them selves up with crayons, textas and inks and jump into it.
Million Masterpiece
The plan/goal..."Get together one million ordinary people from all around the world, and get them to work on the picture together in the world's largest ever artistic collaboration. A collaboration where everyone is equal, where all outcomes are valid."
Collaborative Arts
Collabarts.org was established in December 2005 as a resource and platform for artists, theorists and art students setting out to offer a source of information, dissemination and discussion about collaborative art practice.

Email back from Elli
"neat,
wow i really like that drawing, it is similiar to how i see the the world so i cant wait to respond to it. i wish i had it in the flesh, its a sensory, and if it was up somewhere, it would always reveal another part of itself to me.
Yeh crazy times hey. Uni is a barrage of contrivity. addictive tho, so they say.
Really i got to see ur opening, awesome to have family support too. What a great bunch of folks. Sorry about the baking mess, it was a bit of a rampage at the end there, but awfully good fun. Gave me a fix of the old days so i can enjoy sydney a bit more again."
I liked the way in which she said "it would always reveal another part of itself to me."..... This interests me in the sense that I often wonder what she sees and what I see. But I guess that is just art? I like the clean lines that I have used and the small detail. I want to do another of this but I would like to try bringing in some paint and see what happens. I have noticed a lot of my works are leading away from my favourite medium I am not sure if I am deliberately doing this or it is a reaction to my immediate environment.
I have a space at home but it gets walked thru so much I have to meticulously pack everything up so I have noticed I am on small scale and using tidier stuff. I know I need to move house or just not care. We have a carport but in the 7mths we have been there the landlord has still not patched the roof. You know what....its all excuses...I need to jump into it and get some paint and slap it around......
Off to make a canvas!!

Some words from Marcel Wanders

I have found this great artist/designer Marcel Wanders. And he has a huge range of furniture and designs, but amongst it is some words he has written which i think all artists (or any one really) can relate to and it starts like this, " remember my first design years in the early 80's.
I was studying design, totally enthusiastic and ready to change the world!......"
He designs furniture and living spaces....

Stalking Cousin Kim to Join the Chat
Hi Kim,
I hope this finds you and Clayton happy and healthy. It seems weird to have to send and email to be passed on. I still can't believe you don't do email.
Anyway this project I am working on stems from a uni assignment I have this semester but I feel the need to take it a step further.
It is called a "Conversation of Images". Its basically what I outlined in the SMS I sent you. I have created an image and emailed it to elli and then she made a response and emailed it back. I am going to respond to hers shortly. I don't try and explain my work to her and she doesn't try to explain hers to me. All the information about the piece I need is dimensions and what was used to create it. This is because I am posting the works on my blog as we go along. http://neatcraw.blogspot.com.au, take a look if you dare to go all crazy and stuff.
These works are being put into a proposal to have a show her at Newcastle. Not a large fancy shmancy gallery but one that is well connected and not too costly. I would also need/love an artist CV aswell so I can try and get us a grant to exhibit. This grant would be for show invites (printing, as I would make them print ready and wouldn't need a graphic design to do so) and then gallery hire fee. Podspace (gallery I have in mind for exhibit) is $400 for the 3 week period. Then we need to get a fee posters and also provide wine and nibbles. The Podspace iss exactly that.....a space. Its a long room and good for about 4-5 A1 works each side. (So it would be culling of the works or maybe busting to cover the space). Also need to print a pricing list too and I think podspace takes 20%?????
Anyway I would need a CV of some sort and images of your previous works....yes u can send me hard copies!
I have attached images of Ellie's and I's initial work.....perhaps respond to both.....3 way chat could be interesting!
Also the exhibition would have a laptop and projector set up and the blog open so ppl can respond about our works on there......should be sweet.....I can help you with pricing too.....
Anyway here is my postal address if you have a problem sending digital images....
1/31 kempster road
merewether, 2291
and attached here is my work and ellies, mine is the black and pink square one......

I have also CC'd elli on this email and this will be posted on my blog..

Walk for a Cure
Hello everyone,
This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, an event that raises money to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.
I have Type 1 diabetes, so I know first hand how difficult it can be to manage and how important finding a cure is.
The walk is at The Foreshore in Newcastle on the 19th October, 2008.
Type 1 diabetes is a chronic, life-threatening illness that affects over 140,000 Australians and millions of people world-wide. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that is not caused by diet or lifestyle and often occurs in children. An individual with type 1 diabetes needs up to six insulin injections every day, just to stay alive, as well as multiple finger prick blood sugar tests. People don’t grow out of type 1 diabetes and they are at risk of developing long-term life threatening complications.
JDRF is the world's leading non-profit contributor to type 1 diabetes research and the only charity dedicated solely to finding a cure through the support of medical research.
That's why I am walking – to help find a cure. All donations, regardless of amount, will bring us closer to a cure. When you donate a receipt will be automatically generated.
Many thanks for your support.11 September 2008
The Art Extremist
Double Picture Illusion
Look carefuly at this picture, what do you see? After you make your decision, scroll down for an explanation.

Interestingly, research has shown that young children cannot identify the intimate couple because they do not have prior memory associated with such a scenario.
What they will see, however, is nine (small & black) dolphins in the picture!
So, I guess we've already proven you're not a young innocent child. Now, if it's hard for you to find the dolphins within 6 seconds, your mind is SO corrupted that you probably need help!
OK, here's help: look at the space between her right arm and her head, the tail is on her neck, follow it up. Look at her left hip, follow the shaded part down, it's another one, and on his shoulder..

Do u ever get the feeling that u are out of u'r depth and when u talk in front of u'r peers u will say something wrong? even tho u are talking about art and u'r opinion? opinions aren't wrong thats why they are opinions! I have to make sure I have an answer for any random questions...i don't want to respond with "thats just the way it is" or a tradiotional farmers opinion with "thats what my dad did and his dad did thats why i am cutting down all the trees putting dams in where they suit me and not catchment areas and selling my produce to overseas"...anywayi am tried and raving!! this is a blog not a personal diary.........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (this pic is what google offered me when i typed in "asleep stressed study art" its a map to a loving relationship....WTF?

John Turier is cool
I saw John Turier's work for the first time at the Newcastle Regional Gallery. I love it. The way shapes and patterns are created, not only with the object but the light aswell. I love the use of little found objects such as plastic farm yard animals. I just felt at home amongst his work. I truly felt like I need to have some of his work I want to stare at it all day. To me it means everything but nothing. Its meaningful but just nice to look at.
Un-inspired artist
Right first thing is...find soemthing online that will help me extract the dam images from the word doc!!!!

Hart and Heim - great design
Great design ideas on the Hart and Heim site. It is a gift ware site but the ideas such as simple pillow case writing and little picks on glasses are awesome. I want ALMOST everything on this site.....!! I will do a bit of Christmas shopping on this one.
Phototasm
Budding photographers are always creating conversations through imagery.
here is a new site, Phototasm, which i found through the GAWKER site. It suggests a theme and anyone can posts responses on the website, a response as an image, this one is summer and some people are posting up images that show what summer means to them. Its great worth a look and worth getting involved in.
(I added my tennis court image too)
Gawkers
self promotion is important and should be a priority too.
